A great landscape starts with a solid foundation. The hardscape is the foundation that really grabs the eye.
Dreaming about a raised garden bed? What about a natural stone pathway to your backyard? How does a new patio with a fire pit sound? Well, hardscaping makes all of that possible. We don’t have to wait until May to start building the foundation of a great landscape, we can get started as soon as the ground unfreezes. Since thawed ground is only a couple of months away, now is a great time to start thinking about what hardscaping projects you want done come early spring.
Need some inspiration? We’ve got plenty!
Raised Garden Beds
We created a raised garden bed for this client that wants to grow vegetables come Spring. They wanted to place the garden in the back corner of their lot so that their family could enjoy the rest of the yard for playtime and yard games.
Front Yard Raised Garden
This homeowner wanted to add a nice flower bed to the front of their porch. The change in grade demands attention and really catches the eye. This flower bed is set low enough from the porch that the flowers and plants that are planted in it will not obstruct their view of the neighborhood.
Simple, Low Maintenance Landscaping
This homeowner wanted a low maintenance landscape that would have a nice stone trim. We choose a lighter stone color along with lighter rocks to fill the garden so they would pop against the dark gray of the home. This rock bed is simple and beautiful as well as easy to maintain for years to come.
Unique Patios
These patios are unique and each serve a special purpose. The first patio maximizes the usable space by adding a rounded cut out for a firepit. The cutout allows for the homeowners to sit outside and enjoy their fire while still allowing space for a patio table and chairs. If you have a small backyard or a smaller budget, this patio design is a great solution if you want to add a firepit. The second patio really shows off the opposite end of the spectrum. Lights, a pergola over the hot tub, swinging patio furniture, all of this really pulls together to create this outdoor oasis.
Retaining Walls
Do you have an ugly retaining wall that is falling apart or just an eye sore? This transformation was an incredible one. The old retaining wall had begun to rot and the fence made this property feel like it was stuck in the 1980s. The new concrete retaining wall will not only last longer, but it looks beautiful and the new fence is timeless. *We do privacy fencing too 🙂
